The Designer
Welcome, my name is Martha Elena. My enthusiasm for architecture started as a very little girl. My dreams carried me through to graduating from the architecture program at the Caribbean Autonomous University, whereafter I pursued a career in design in my home country of Colombia and the neighboring countries. I founded my first company in 1991, F&O Ltd, a contracting firm specializing in design.
Since then I have continued my design career in Springfield Illinois, my adopted hometown where I live with my husband Robert, and since 2004 have been a designer at Steckel-Parker Architects, one of Springfield's oldest architectural practices. In addition, I maintain an independent residential design practice, and am an associate of the American Institute of Architects.
Custom Designs
Creating a custom home or a unique new building requires a special touch. When you work me you work directly with the designer on bringing your vision for a new home to a finished design. I can visit your project site, work on preliminary site plans, detailed punch lists and CAD drawings. Contact me
Stock Plans
When you purchase a Martha Daniels' stock plans you will be receiving a thoughtful design that will help you create a comfortable home. All my plans come with full construction documents. I also offer design modification service to my existing plans or I can work with you on your own drawings. A sample gallery is available.
Cost Savings
I strive to keep my clients on budget. My years of experience in the industry allows me to suggest cost saving alternatives and other creative solutions. I continue to be involved with AIA workshops and am knowledgable on energy saving construction and technologies popular in today's construction.
Giving Back
You can find me often posting plan suggestions and answering owner builder questions over at The Garden Web Home Forums. I enjoy home design and have owner built two homes. Look for me sharing more of my experiences in my new blog coming soon.
